Sarah McClure is a contemporary applied artist born in Co. Down, Northern Ireland. Specialising in earth arts. She works primarily with ceramics and fine wood working, creating installations, sculptures and home wares.
Ceramic work uses an experimental approach to clay, combining coloured porcelain, Egyptian paste and other clay's with various burn out materials such as: metals and fibres. Creating complex and detailed works that explore layering and texture, whilst pushing the boundaries of the medium.
Her work explores the value of nature in modern culture, how we experience, interact and manipulate it. Her pieces delve into the world of intricate textures, forms and colours, found in nature.
